Shakinda will be giving a world exclusive 4 day workshop at the famous Live Performers Meeting in Rome this year. From Thurs 28th to Sun 31st May you will get the opportunity to learn Quartz Composer from scratch and come out the other side a guaranteed quartz guru. He will be using this workshop to test out some of the material in the upcoming Pearson Education Book on Quartz he is writing and will we getting some input from other quartz legends who will be in Rome for the meeting. The LPM will see over 200 live visual performers in the same space and so will be a great place for transfer of ideas etc and Shakinda is proud to represent ireland on this european stage.

Shakinda created quite a storm in Dubai last month as he rolled in to play at Mtv Arabia's Boutique music festival. Making the front page of Time Out Dubai's nightlife section ahead of Eric Morillo and Dj Prime Cuts!

Shakinda performed on a floating stage at Festival City alongside Acid house legend JB and Dj Farha. "It was a unique experience and there was a really good vibe between crowd, music and visuals. Definitely one to repeat!"-Shakinda.

At the end of February Oli Sorenson (Vj Anyone) one of the most prolific and globally renouned vj and av artists approached Shakinda to work on the AV singles project for DJ Download. The project involves producing highly stylised video mixes for download with the latest audio releases.

The AV single project is pioneering a new way for music to be released and opening up live visuals to many artists who to this point have been audio only. Shakinda is excited to involved in these early stages of what will undoubtedly become a global phemoneon.

This agreement also marks another first for Shakinda as this is the first time his studio's motion graphics have been released into the global consumer market; get you copy while there're hot:

The biggest fesitval in the southern hemisphere just got bigger. Shakinda will play in the boiler room at The Big Day Out, following on the same stage will be Prodidy, Hot Chip and Simian Mobile Disco.

Mixmag, the worlds biggest selling dance music and clubbing magazine, have ranked Yello, Shakinda's monthly residency location, at number 6 in their Best of 08 Top 10 Clubs in the UK! Coming in ahead of the Gallery at Londons Ministry of Sound, Pressure at the Arches in Glasgow and Manchesters Warehouse Project, Yello is the only Northern Irish entry in the highly prestigious poll and the only one with a resident VJ. Proving live visuals are the future and what really sets a club apart from the rest... Viva la revolution!

Last weekend was a lot of fun Shakinda was over performing, jamming and giving a workshop at the excellent B Seite festival in Mannheim, Germany pics...

We are pleased to announce that 2008 will be going out with a bang, Shakinda will play Phatz festival in New Zealand, just a few days after the next planet love where Shakinda will once again go head to head with the recently re-voted world's number one dj Armin Van Buuren.

This year so far Shakinda has performed to over 80,000 people. Combined with the ongoing 1100 capacity residency at Yello, boxing night and NYE we are hopeful he will break the 100,000 barrier. Truly marking 2008 as a red letter year for Ireland's most exciting VJ.

Its been hectic as ever at Shakinda studios, last weekend saw the last festival of the summer with the might Planet Love's 10th Birthday. Shakinda marked the event with a 10 hour set on a 40ft x 20ft martin LED panel array! pics to follow
